The Secret Movie

The Secret movie was originally released as a small, independent film about a little-known, 'new-agey' subject called The Law of Attraction. This little film sparked the huge interest in the Law of Attraction that is currently sweeping the world.

The Secret was the brainchild of producer, Rhonda Byrne, who was a 'newbie' to The Law of Attraction and was begining to implement it in her own life. Like all wise people, she made her hobby into her job when she set about making a film about this subject which had so captured her fascination.

The central lessons in The Secret can be summarised as follows:

• You are responsible for everything in your own life.
• You have the power to change your life.
• Your imagination is the key to creating the life you desire.
• Be guided by your emotions, focussing on what makes you feel happy.
• You can be anything you want to be! The fact that you have imagined something means it is possible to make it real!

The Secret was shot entirely on video-tape, with a small crew and a very low budget, but it became the biggest popular phenomenon of the last decade when it was released on DVD and sold over the internet, with almost no advertising.

The movie made household names of some of the Law of Attraction teachers and wealth coaches who appeared in it, such as Jack Canfield, Bob Proctor and Rev. Michael Beckwith.

As a result of the success of The Secret movie, The Secret book was published, containing further discussion of The Law of Attraction. It quickly became an instant bestseller all over the world and still features in the bestseller lists in many countries. You can read some of the essential quotations from The Secret book here. As well as the book, the release of The Secret movie also gave rise to a follow-up course, when viewers expressed a desire for further, on-going, practical help in implementing its teachings.

While viewers understood the idea of The Law of Attraction contained in The Secret, many people found it difficult to put the ideas into practice in their own lives. The movie was more about theory than practicalities. While it provided a wonderful introduction to ideas that were new to a lot of people, and helped them understand The Law of Attraction, they needed help in putting it into action.
