How to be rich?

This is the question that puzzles us all and the answer eludes most of us. But it doesn't elude everyone---wealthy people know how to be rich. To find the answer we are looking for, we need to look at their behaviour.

Q. So, what is the one thing that wealth creators have in common?

A. Unlike the vast majority of people, they do not sell their time for money.

You'll never be wealthy if all you do is sell your time, even if you charge a good hourly rate. You only have so many hours in a day to get rich that way. And it's not enough! Even if you slaved away 24/7, it's still not enough to ever make you really rich on its own. You need to use other money-making techniques as well to multiply the return you get for your time.

Sadly, at school, we are trained merely to obtain a skill and then sell our time. We are never taught that in doing so, we will remain wage-slaves all our lives. Even if we are comfortably off, as many professional wage-slaves are, they never know the freedom that comes from being wealthy. But wage-slaving is what the vast majority of the world's population do and that's why most people will never be rich.

If you want to be rich, you need to do something different to what most people do. You need to leverage your time. There are many ways to do this:

• You can employ others.
• You can create systems that once set up, repeat their money-making returns for you without extra work.
• You can learn about leveraging your actual money to create more money by buying and selling stocks, property or anything that can bring you back a good return.

This is what it means to go into the business of wealth creation, rather than into a job. When you set up different income streams by leveraging your time, your skills and your capital, you can make money even while you sleep! That's how to escape the rat race!
