Law of Attraction Pioneers

Since the 1800's, Law of Attraction pioneers have been ahead of the curve, introducing new ways of thinking to our society. The current popularity of The Secret and acceptance of the Law of Attraction, began with the inspiring teachings of people almost 200 years ago.

Prentice Mulford

Prentice Mulford, who lived from 1834 to 1891, is probably the founder of the New Thought movement that led up to the present day release of The Secret movie. Mulford lived a reclusive, contemplative life, but his cutting-edge work on the Law of Attraction was an enormous influence on subsequent teachers right up to the present day. He coined that wonderful phrase "thoughts are things" and it became the title of one of his most influential books.

Whenever I catch myself mulling over something that troubles me, but that I don't want to attract more of, I say Mulford's phrase to myself and switch to thinking about what I want to attract into my life.

Wallace Wattles

American, Wallace Wattles lived from 1860 to 1911 and his book The Science of Getting Rich is one of the most important and accessible books ever written on the Law of Attraction. It became the basis for The Secret Movie because of the clarity and simplicity with which Wattles explains his ideas. It was a present of this little book to Rhonda Byrne that prompted her to embark on The Secret project. The practical help contained in Wattles' book is invaluable for anybody wishing to attract wealth into their life. Like all great scholars, Wattles was able to wear his learning lightly and he realised that if you are poor, or in debt, you need practical help, not endless theorising!

Genevieve Behrend

Genevieve Behrend is very interesting because she is one of the earliest women pioneers of success mentoring. Originally from Paris, France, she travelled widely, inspiring and teaching people about the Law of Attraction. Born in 1881, she died only in 1960. Her best-loved works are Your Invisible Power and Attaining Your Heart's Desire.

Charles Haanel

Charles Haanel lived from 1866 to 1949 and was an extremely successful American businessman. His books are a comprehensive explanation of how he achieved success. The lessons they contain are timeless ones, as relevant today as they were in Haanel's time. He published The Master Key System in 1912 and this book was another of the seminal texts which informed The Secret movie.
